Bono is saying the next U2 album will be called `Songs of Ascent?ÇÖ. He should know.
In an interview with Sean O?ÇÖHagan, Bono called ?ÇÿSongs of Ascent?ÇÖ the sister album to ?ÇÿNo Line Of The Horizon?ÇÖ, similar to how ?ÇÿZooropa?ÇÖ and ?ÇÿAchtung Baby?ÇÖ were bookends.
Atu2.com says the album is expected to be produced by Brian Eno and Daniel Lanois once again, with additional work by Steve Lillywhite.
Some of the songs are expected to be the leftover tracks from ?ÇÿNo Line On The Horizon?ÇÖ, but some are older.
Songs expected to be used include ?ÇÿNorth Star?ÇÖ, an unused track from ?ÇÿHow To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb?ÇÖ.
?ÇÿWinter?ÇÖ, the song that didn?ÇÖt make ?ÇÿNo Line On The Horizon?ÇÖ but was used in the movie ?ÇÿBrothers?ÇÖ is expected to make the new album and ?ÇÿKingdom Of Your Love?ÇÖ, heard in part of the intro music of the U2 360 Tour is also expected on the album.
Other tracks we might find there are ?Ç£Every Breaking Wave?ÇÖ, ?ÇÿIf I Could Live My Life Again?ÇÖ, ?ÇÿLove Is All We Have Left?ÇÖ, ?ÇÿMercy?ÇÖ, ?ÇÿLead Me In The Way I Should Go?ÇÖ and ?ÇÿYou Can?ÇÖt Give Away Your Heart?ÇÖ.
Bono told the Irish Independent that the album may be out in June.
