Claire Bowditch, Lior and Whitley are some of the contemporary music artists name to perform something different at the Melbourne Jazz Festival.
Better know for appearances at rock festivals and Top 40 charts, they will perform the show ?ÇÿBaby Its Cold Outside: An Evening of Great Jazz Standard?ÇÖ during the Melbourne International Jazz Festival with Megan Washington.
The Festival this year will have a range of unique events. ?ÇÿOverground?ÇÖ will feature the likes of Kim Salmon and Kram taking over spaces at the Melbourne Town Hall.
Paul Kapsis, most recently seen as Riff Raff in the Rocky Horror Show, will make his jazz festival debut with the specially commissioned project ?ÇÿSongs of Love and Death?ÇÖ. He will perform with Alister Spence Trio.
The Melbourne International Jazz Festival has also introduced ?ÇÿJazz For Kids?ÇÖ this year with 14 events for children.
The 2010 Melbourne International Jazz Festival will feature 400 performers, over 95 events, 20 free concerts, 16 world premieres and 21 Australian premiers.
Dates are May 1 to 8, 2010.
