Burt Bacharach's Australian and New Zealand tour has been postponed until July due to a shoulder injury sustained by the composer.
The injury occurred in New York, though it is unknown how it was sustained. Bacharach has had surgery and is set to perform the rescheduled dates in July.
Bacharach was set to perform with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra in Christchurch, Wellington and Auckland. Dionne Warwick is set to replace Bacharach for the New Zealand concerts, with new dates as follows:
CHRISTCHURCH Tuesday 30 January, 8pm Westpac Centre
AUCKLAND Thursday 1 February, 8pm Aotea Centre
AUCKLAND Friday 2 February, 8pm Aotea Centre
WELLINGTON Saturday 3 February, 8pm Michael Fowler Centre
WELLINGTON Sunday 4 February, 8pm Michael Fowler Centre.
Tickets to the New Zealand shows can still be refunded from the point of purchase.
In Australia, Bacharach's Sydney Opera House dates have been rescheduled for 10–14 July. The Adelaide dates will go ahead in July as well.
