Aussie pop star Ricki-Lee has signed with UK dance label Ministry of Sound.

It has been a great year for the former Australian idol "reject". Ricki-Lee has proven there is life beyond Idol by taking charge of her career and pursuing an indie path.

"It's been an amazing year already and to add to that, the news of a Ministry Of Sound record deal and a confirmed release in Japan in 2008, is simply overwhelming!!! I'm honoured and flattered to be signed as an artist on these labels, and I'm excited about the amazing opportunities that lie ahead in 2008", she said in a statement.

By doing it her way, she has now scored the gig with the prestigious UK label. "We are delighted to have signed Ricki-Lee and look forward to having success with her in the UK" said MOS's Scott Simons.

In other Ricki-Lee news, the singer is also releasing her music in Japan through Pony Canyon Records.

The news ends a year long high for Ricki-Lee who also married Jamie Babbington in September.

Her 'Brand New Day' album is available for a limited time as a deluxe double though Shock Records.
