Eurythmics star Annie Lennox is continuing her campaign to stop the war in the Middle East by going to the media and stating her plea.
“When I saw the images of the war planes dropping bombs in Gaza and knowing that there are innocent civilians, women and children at the receiving end of this potential carnage I became incredibly concerned,” she told the BBC.
The Middle East conflict went into a downward spiral in the last week after Israel decided to attack Hamas on their own turf.
Lennox, together with Bianca Jagger, lead tens of thousands of protestors through the streets of London on the weekend. Annie is calling the atrocity “a pornography of destruction”.
Protestors marched with flags and placards calling for the “end of the siege in Gaza”.
Annie addressed the crowd calling both the Israeli’s and the Palestinians “wrong”.
Lennox has also warning George W. Bush to stay out of the situation, claiming that an American involvement will only make matter worse. She said Bush would only “pour petrol onto the fire”.
“It’s not about Gaza. It is about all of us,” she said.
Protesters also marched on the weekend in Manchester, Bristol, Portsmouth, Edinburgh and Glasgow.
