Chisel, Tatts, You Am I Sing For Mick Cocks

by Paul Cashmere - July 26 2009

Friday night was a one-off rock fest with the cream of Australian rock gathering at the Enmore to play for one of our greats, Rose Tattoo guitarist Mick Cocks.

Mick is suffering from liver cancer.

On Friday night, Jimmy Barnes, Ian Moss and Phil Small from Cold Chisel, You Am I, The Radiators, Screaming Jets, Dave Tice & Mark Evans and, of course, Rose Tattoo played for Mick.

I?ÇÖm told I can?ÇÖt go as far as calling this a Cold Chisel reunion. Well, for starters it wasn?ÇÖt. But Barnesy, Mossy and Small did through in a healthy dose of Chisel classics.

Jimmy did his solo hits ?ÇÿDriving Wheels?ÇÖ ?ÇÿNo Second Prize?ÇÖ and ?ÇÿLay Down Your Guns?ÇÖ. Then he sang his Chisel belter ?ÇÿYou Got Nothing I Want?ÇÖ.

Ian Moss came on to continue the Chisel flow with ?ÇÿBow River?ÇÖ, he then did ?ÇÿGeorgia On My Mind?ÇÖ and finally Jimmy and Ian relived their finest joint vocal moment together from the Chisel days, ?ÇÿWhen The War Is Over?ÇÖ.

The music biz sends its love out to Mick. The Tatts have had a tragic few years losing Pete Wells, Ian Rilen and Lobby Loyde to cancer.

Friday night was one for the boys.
