In a terrifying plunge from a dangerously teetering career, Billy Idol has released a Christmas album.
While clearly (read: hopefully) going for novelty value, a kind of Hoff-style self mockery, the Idol Christmas album is kind of scary.
Idol takes all of your favourite Christmas songs, covers them in snow and writes his name on them, so to speak, as he works his way through 'White Christmas', 'Santa Claus Is Coming To Town', 'Let It Snow' and New Years Eve anthem 'Auld Lang Syne'.
Christmas albums have been a long tradition for many artists on the downhill slope, but occasionally there has been some gold - note the difference between say, this and Phil Spector's Christmas album.
