Stone Temple Pilots have cancelled their December and January tour dates to continue work on their new album.
The band is wrapping up a North American tour and now just aims to get the next record finished.
After the last album ‘Shangri-La Dee Da’ in 2001 the band split and reformed this year after the demise of Velvet Revolver.
They are working on the new record with Don Was (Rolling Stones, Elton John). Scott Weiland said back in May that Stone Temple Pilots has written 18 songs for the album and would whittle it down to 10.
The album is expected in the second quarter of 2010 making a SXSW showcase perfect timing. Let the rumour begin.
