Big money is rolling in for Marmelo and the international raider could usurp Almandin from favouritism.

Almandin has eased from $6.50 out to $8.50, while Marmelo has remained solid at $9.00.

Overnight sportsbet was hit with a $20,000 wager on Marmelo and also several $5,000 bets on the British stayer.

The online bookmaker also reports solid support for Max Dynamite with the 2015 runner-up firming from $16 into $14.

Local hope Humidor ($10) is well in commission and another European invader, Rekindling ($16 into $13) has plenty of admirers.

“At the current rate Marmelo will start favourite for the Melbourne Cup. Almandin is popular, but the groundswell of support for Marmelo is huge and he now holds twice the money than Almandin,’’ said’s Will Byrne.
