Ben Birchall's 'Year of the Monkey' is simply a collection of songs that he has written over the past few years, that his family and mates bugged him to record and put out. It's simply some good guitar based pop music.

This six track EP features the new single 'Three Minute Revolution', the waltzy 'Cold, Tired, Free' and the pretty straightforward 'Empty Bars', amongst some of the smoothest guitar pop you've heard since Timmy Rogers last picked up a guitar.

As previously mentioned, the six tunes on this EP go back to 1999, so you're getting a large span of what Birchall is about when you pick up this disc. It could almost be considered a best of for a debut release.
