JC Chasez : Schitzophrenic

Leaving N`Sync to pursue a
solo career has had a high bar to hurdle set by Justin Timberlake,
but JC Chasez just might be able to slip into his own world
of solo stardom. JT was a phenomenon, and phenomena only happen
with a large element of fluke. JC may or may not have the
fluke, but he definitely has the tunes.
'Some Girls (Dance With Women)' opens the album with a cheeky
touch that grips the corners of your mouth and pulls them
upwards. "Some girls dance with women/knowin' that it
gets them attention/I wanna get in with them/so pass me a
drink and lets roll!" he sings through one of the smoothest
hooks pop has produced in years.
For fans of British funk/pop group Jamiroquai, the tune 'She
Got Me' should prick up your ears as Chasez (deliberately
or not) mimics Jamiroquai frontman Jay Kay in the catchy as
hell chorus.
It's difficult to stop writing about this album. Each tune
is so great in its own way, yet equally smooth. 'Mercy' has
that uniquely Chasez quality, while 'Something Special', with
its brilliant production (hand claps have never sounded to
rhythmic) will have you singing "Na, na na na na, na
na na na, na na na na" along with the album.
The Basement Jaxx written/produced/recorded tune 'Shake It'
leads Chasez into a harder, electronic era of music. 'All
Day Long I Dream About Sex' brings up right up to the point
of trance music.
A touch of Reggae (no kiddin'!) is thrown in with 'Everything
You Want' as if just to mix this album up that little bit
more.
If this album has one flaw it's that it is a tad too long,
but at any given moment, it's sheer pop brilliance. Even the
bonus tracks (you'll get if you grab the album soon enough)
are great!
