Mick Hart : No Compromise
By Tim Cashmere
9th September 2004
Independent Sydney artist Mick Hart has
just released his third album, available through MGM. This
album may just be his best yet! With a great band and some
great songs, Hart tackles the solo singer/songwriter style
head on.
Not only does Mick Hart show his great songwriting skills,
driven by his magnificent voice, but he also knows his way
around a guitar
without just making it sound difficult
for the sake of it.
The diversity of this album is shown from the rocking 'On
The Way Down', where the whole band plays an equal part, contrasted
straight after by the beautiful 'Nothing Left To Lose'.
This whole album is diverse enough to stay great from start
to finish, but it doesn't sound like a totally new artist
with each song. Sounding somewhere between Ben Harper and
Xavier Rudd, Mick Hart is a welcome inclusion in the Australian
music scene.
