These Days - Live in Concert

By Tim Cashmere

Powderfinger's first live
album ever comes at a perfect time in their career. With five
great albums under their belt and one of the biggest followings
an Australian band has had in the last ten years. This album
was recorded during their December 2003 tour, one of the most
successful tours by an Australian band that year.
Disc one was recorded at the Sydney Entertainment Centre
and weighs heavily on the more recent work of the band. The
true joy of listening to this album is that they're a band
that can really play very well, whether it's great guitar
solos or just brilliant connectivity between the band.
Disc two features a lower key set (hence being called "Low
key") recorded at Fox Studio's in Sydney. This mainly
acoustic set leans more heavily on their 'Vulture Street'
album and features a cover of Rodriguez's 'Inner City Blues'
a song they played on their warm up tour just before 'Vulture
Street' was released.
This limited edition run comes four weeks before their live
DVD is released, and the live DVD comes four weeks before
their well timed greatest hits is out.
